The PentaMetric System
(1)It requires the PM-5000-U input unit , that is located near the batteries and gets data from the battery system.
It also requires at least one (or may use both) of the following two methods which are available for observing and controlling data from the “input unit”:
(2) A “computer interface” (of which there are now three choices) that allows the data to be read and controlled from a computer or via internet router. The computer need only be on while actually observing the data. There are now three different “computer interface units” available (below).
(3)A “display unit” (PM-100-D) that allows data to be read from a wall mounted LED display, and provides audible alarms for the system.
If you are interested in the PentaMetric we suggest for most installations that one of the computer interface units be used for easier programming, and best use of the data—especially the logged data. The “Display unit” is also useful for accessing the data while the computer is not on—and it also has an audible alarm function. But it is not necessary if computer access is considered adequate.
There are now three choices for computer interfaces. Only one can be used with the Input unit at one time.
PM-100-C-RS232 : RS232 serial connection to older computers
PM-100-C-USB : For USB connection to a computer.
PM-101-CE ; Ethernet connection with Internet capability. Can be connected to a computer or internet connected router for remote access by the Internet. You need a static IP address at the remote location for this function.
